The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. Your role will be critical to ensuring the success of Target’s business initiatives and core retail operations.   As a Sr Manager, Retail Accounting , you’ll provide strategic direction and leadership to the Inventory Intelligence team, ensuring processes and controls are effective for timely and accurate financial statements. In this role, you’ll oversee lead key controls processes around material transactional flows, support admin responsibilities for core inventory valuation systems, and lead key operational and SOX controls routines across the Retail Accounting Team. This role will be critical in maintaining the stability of legacy processes while supporting the evolution/modernization of these systems.    You’ll work with cross-functional partners to translate business operations and new initiatives into appropriate accounting and financial reporting outcomes. Some of these partners include Inventory and Revenue Accounting Teams, Merchandise Finance, Tax, FP&A,  Finance Capabilities and Target Technology. Using your influencing skills, you’ll advocate for Controllership in enterprise-wide initiatives and system modernizations impacting inventory valuation and sales, ensuring new solutions support accurate and timely financial reporting, effective controls and operational excellence. You’ll also drive continuous improvement through automation, standardization, technology and analytics while providing leadership, coaching and development to build a collaborative, high-performing team and strengthen organizational capability.   Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.   About you:   B.A./B.S. degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.   6+ years of accounting, finance, or relevant business experience.   CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred.   Team leadership experience strongly preferred, including leading through others and developing high-performing teams.   Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, inventory accounting concepts, preferred.   Experience evaluating and operationalizing accounting guidance for complex or evolving business models.   Demonstrated experience operating within a strong internal control environment, including SOX compliance and controllership responsibilities.   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across multiple levels and functions.   Strong digital acumen, including experience with ERP systems, data analysis, and process automation; SAP experience preferred.   Proven ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.   This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location (Tues/Wednesday) the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
