Your Impact The Quality Assurance Engineer ensures the quality and performance of Lowe's Private Brands and select National Brands. This role is responsible for supporting new product introductions, enforcing compliance with QA testing programs through advanced technology frameworks, and driving supplier quality oversight and continuous improvement for existing items. Working closely with Global QA, Global Merchandising, internal testing teams, third-party labs, and vendor partners, the QA Engineer plays a key role in executing Lowe's QA program requirements while fostering collaboration and delivering best-in-class products to customers. What You Will Do Provide QA support for Global Merchandising product development projects, Product Line Reviews, and both private and national brand initiatives. Manage product and quality engineering activities for new and existing products as well as vendor partners. Assess project scope and recommend appropriate QA methodologies, including stage-gate processes, APQP workbooks, and other documentation. Ensure clear communication, strong follow-through, and on-time delivery of project plans. Apply QA procedures, systems, and tools to manage projects, testing programs, and supplier quality. Demonstrate expertise in new item tracking, specification and protocol testing, claims validation, and data analysis to inform decisions and investigations. Review customer returns, vendor change requests, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement. Support the development of Lowe’s Private Brand performance specifications, including test planning, product benchmarking, and specification implementation. Ensure vendor compliance with Lowe’s QA testing requirements for both protocol and performance specifications. Use systems, communication, and training tools to guide vendor testing, particularly for Domestic Private Brand items. Review failed test results and align with stakeholders on next steps and resolution. Evaluate vendor data and third-party reports to support Private Brand packaging claims reviews. Provide recommendations to Packaging and Legal teams on claim validity based on testing expertise and industry knowledge. Lead efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, product quality, and process improvements using VOC data and QA metrics. Provide insights and quality support to Merchandising, PDM, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Collaborate with vendors and enterprise partners to drive improvements and corrective actions through risk- and impact-based prioritization. Execute containment and product service projects (e.g., stop sales, DC holds, inspections, reworks) across the supply chain, ensuring timely communication with Quality Management and stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across Lowe’s Global QA teams, Global Merchandising, and vendor partners. Facilitate alignment and teamwork across internal groups and external third-party labs to achieve shared quality objectives. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Engineer, technical sciences or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable 3 Years as engineer in a design, manufacturing, or retail environment 2 years experience utilizing engineering tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Engineering Design Review, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) process, and Lean Manufacturing Experience writing technical reports and ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated experience leading and/or facilitating projects. Preferred Skills/Education Strong understanding of quality tools such as root cause analysis and corrective action planning (CAP) Retail operations experience Experience in testing consumer products a laboratory environment About Lowe’s Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
