Job Description About The Role : The Fry Cook is responsible for the production of food at various work stations.  They will control the quality and accuracy of all items (i.e., meats, vegetables, starches, bread products, etc.)  They also help to ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and safe operation of all equipment.   What You'll Do: Accurately prepares all food necessary for service.  Works closely with front of the house staff on timing, presentation and quality to ensure guest satisfaction.  Checks and controls the proper storage of product, especially on all fresh produce, checking on portion control, to maintain product quality and reduce waste.  Keeps all refrigeration, storage and working areas in clean, working condition in order to comply with all regulations.  Ensures all equipment is in good working condition for safe and efficient operation.  Prepares requisitions for supplies or food items needed for production in the kitchen or any outlet/restaurant on a daily basis.  Performs general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards. Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents. Perform other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc., to ensure safe working environment. Successful at operating various kitchen posts such as prepping, frying, broiling, sautéing, plating, cold dishes, etc. Performs work when necessary at varying stations such as carving, grilling, action stations, plating, etc. Qualifications What You Bring: High school diploma or equivalent Advanced cooking experience required.  Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, proper food storage, and temperature control standards. Understanding of cooking fundamentals, including frying, sautéing, grilling, soup and sauce preparation, cold food preparation, plating, and basic baking and butchery techniques. Ability to identify quality ingredients and maintain high standards when handling meats, seafood, produce, and other food products. Ability to follow instructions, learn quickly, and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Proficiency in operating, cleaning, and safely using commercial kitchen equipment and utensils. Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, portioning, and food preparation. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to communicate effectively with team members and guests. Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently bend, twist, reach, and move throughout the kitchen. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and assist with moving heavier items using proper equipment and safe lifting techniques. Ability to work safely in varying temperatures, including hot kitchen environments and cold storage areas. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with a diverse workforce.
