Job Description Purpose: To ensure all guests are greeted and seated in a friendly and courteous manner using appropriate procedures, in accordance with Atton Standards.  Reports to: Culinary Director, F&B Managers   Essential Functions:    Assist manager, supervisor in the opening and closing of the restaurant, bars and lounges.  Answering phone calls.  Seating guests.  Control heavy volume at restaurant entrance.  Knowledge of hotel property.  Inform the guest about buffets.  Attend to and anticipate guest’s needs.  Familiarization with menu.  Introduce server to guest.  Greeting guests. Anticipate guest’s needs to create an amazing experience.  Knowledge of daily specials.  Promote all F&B Outlets  Assign guest checks.  Follow the Novotel F&B standards  Introduce the menu to the guests  Use of Open Table system  Assist with IRD when required  Make phone calls and use and appropriate etiquette  Must be well versed with all hotel amenities and outlets to serve as an ambassador to promote them, including, but not limited to Lima, Vista, Uva and the Fitness Center.  Be aware of hotel’s events and promote the business       Hotel Specific Essential Functions:    Bus and set-up tables as needed to assist servers and improve services.    Maintain a clean and attractive podium and restaurant areas.    Follows Novotel Miami Brickell grooming standards and uses proper vocabulary    Tools and Equipment:  Pen and paper, cleaning supplies, dishes, silverware, buckets.    Working Environment:    Interior of hotel, in all areas of the hotel.    Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions, restaurant deck and pool area.    Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.     Exposure to food items and beverages.    Walking, standing, and bending.     Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.  Pushing of supply carts.    Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
