LogicGate is at the forefront of this industry transformation, empowering enterprise professionals to navigate complex regulatory environments, manage critical uncertainty, and operate with integrity at scale. Senior Software Engineer: Platform About the Role As a Senior Software Engineer: Platform, you will design and scale the foundational APIs and backend services powering LogicGate’s Risk Cloud platform. As enterprise GRC demands expand, you will tackle critical system bottlenecks, optimize cloud data stores, and ensure high-availability multi-tenant reliability. Working in Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and AWS, you will solve complex architectural challenges while elevating technical standards across the engineering chapter. In this role, your technical leadership will directly ensure our platform remains scalable, resilient, and performant. What You’ll Do System & Data Architecture: Design and build high-throughput backend services, core platform APIs, and distributed data stores using Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Neo4j, Redis, PostgreSQL, and RabbitMQ to expand multi-tenant Risk Cloud capabilities. Quality & Continuous Delivery: Write robust unit, integration, and service-level tests while partnering with DevOps to evolve cloud infrastructure and automated CI/CD pipelines (AWS, Terraform, Docker, GitLab CI). Observability & Optimization: Monitor operational metrics, tracing, and alerts in Datadog to proactively diagnose system bottlenecks, optimize database query performance, and ensure platform health. Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate technical design reviews, decompose complex epics alongside Product and Design teams, and mentor engineers across squads to elevate code quality and execution. AI Workflow Efficiency: Leverage AI coding assistants, LLMs, and modern developer automation tools to streamline engineering workflows, refactor legacy patterns, and accelerate feature delivery velocity. What You Bring Required: Backend Expertise: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise backend systems using Java, Kotlin, or comparable JVM languages with Spring Boot. Distributed & Cloud Systems: Proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining high-scale distributed systems and RESTful APIs in an AWS cloud-native environment. Data & Storage Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with relational or non-relational databases, caching mechanisms, and asynchronous message brokers (e.g., PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Redis, RabbitMQ). Testing & Quality First: Deep commitment to modern testing practices across the testing pyramid, treating test automation as an essential component of shipping software. AI Literacy & Agentic Tooling: Demonstrated curiosity and practical experience leveraging modern AI coding tools, LLMs, or AI agents (e.g., custom developer tools, agentic workflows, or automated assistants) to enhance problem-solving, code quality, and engineering velocity. Distributed Work & Team Engagement : Thrives in a remote, highly collaborative engineering culture with willingness to attend occasional department onsites and company events. Nice to Have: LogicGate Tech Stack: Direct hands-on experience with LogicGate’s tech stack: Java, Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, Neo4j, Redis, RabbitMQ, Docker, Terraform, and GitLab CI. Architecture Knowledge: Familiarity with graph database modeling, event-driven architectures, or multi-tenant SaaS application design. Full-Stack & SDLC Leadership: Brings a holistic perspective to the software development life cycle - combining deep backend expertise with a desire to work across the stack, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and apply infrastructure-as-code (IaC) best practices. The anticipated base salary range for the role is $125,000 - $165,000 per year + variable + equity + benefits. Actual salaries may vary and will be based on factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
